Mithridatism

Mithridatism is the ability to adapt to poisons due to progressive doses.

The term comes from Mithridates VI, also known as Mithridates the Great and Eupator Dionysius (132 BC to 63 BC). King of Pontus, he was known for having accustomed his body to poison. His story inspired Racine, who wrote the tragedy of Mithridate in 1673.
