Mimicry

Mimicry is a defensive mechanism used by an animal to conceal itself from predators. An animal using mimicry appears as something that it is not: another animal, or even an element of its environment. To accomplish this, it uses visual devices such as homochromy (the animal changes its colour to match its environment).

E.g.: chameleon, octopus, cuttlefish...
