Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis is a series of transformations that an insect undergoes from its egg stage until its adult stage. The transformation is complete when the insect has passed through four stages: egg, larva, nymph (or chrysalis in moths), imago. The transformation is incomplete when there is no differentiated nymph stage.
