Chelicerae

Chelicerae is a paired appendage located near the mouth among cheliceriform arthropods.

It forms the first pair of appendages. It corresponds to the second pair of antennae in mandibulates (crustaceans, insects...).

Cheliceriforms include chelicerates (spiders, scorpions, pseudoscorpions...) and pycnogonids, small marine animals that look like spiders.
