VLBI

Very long base interferometry. A method in radio-astronomy consisting in recording an extremely precise timer and a signal in two places separated by distances that can be intercontinental. These recordings are then sent to a single location and interfere in a correlator. This method gives access to astrometric precision of the order of a few tens of microseconds of angle.
