UTC

Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) is the current reference time. Unlike Universal Time (UT) it is not linked to the rotation of the Earth. It is therefore stable (because the Earth's rotation speed varies). UTC is linked to the measurement of time using atomic clocks (i.e. International Atomic Time, TAI).
