Supergiant star

A star that weighs more than 3 solar masses will, at the end of its life, become a supergiant when it has used up its hydrogen and its outer layers expand. Supergiant stars are the biggest and brightest of all stars and generally they explode in a supernova creating a neutron star or a black hole.
