Spiral galaxy

A galaxy with spiral arms. There are two main types, those which have a central bar (SB, barred spiral) and those that do not (S, spiral). Spiral galaxies are also subdivided into types a, b and c (and sometimes d), depending on how the spiral arms are formed.
