Nebula

An interstellar cloud of gas and dust. Bright nebulas radiate light from the gas that composes them (emission nebulas), or reflect the light of stars (reflection nebulas), or may do both. Dark nebulas are clouds of gas and dust that are not luminous. Planetary nebulas are shells of gas ejected by stars at the end of their life.
