Messier 82

Messier 82, also called "the cigar galaxy", is a star nursery near the constellation of Ursa Major, 12 million light-years from Earth. It is a place of titanic explosions, of the birth of millions of stars, and is interacting with its neighbour galaxy, Messier 81, with which it is colliding.
