Downsizing

Downsizing denotes all the techniques for reducing the size of an organisation or an object by improvements in efficiency, miniaturisation etc., while maintaining the same capacity.

In mechanics, downsizing consists in reducing the cylinder capacity of an engine to reduce fuel consumption without affecting the specific power.
