Shark feeding

Shark feeding designates the tourist activity that consists in feeding or watching wild sharks feed. An activity similar to extreme sports when it is performed as part of a dive, it allows people to get close to these large predators and generates strong sensations. Rather controversial, because it tends to modify the behaviour of sharks, it is currently controlled, much like whale watching, by codes of conduct.

Shark feeding activities can take place underwater during free or cage dives, or even from a boat, as shown here in New Caledonia. © PedroGilberto.net, CC by-nc-sa 2.0 Shark feeding activities can take place underwater during free or cage dives, or even from a boat, as shown here in New Caledonia. © PedroGilberto.net, CC by-nc-sa 2.0
