Monoculture

Monoculture is a form of farming based on growing a single plant species on plots of land, such as the succession of crops over the years. This type of agriculture is not recommended from an agronomical perspective because it exhausts the soil and can cause problems related to the development of diseases, pests and biodiversity.

The opposite is called polyculture.
