Microscopic soot particles

Microscopic soot particles are soot particles in the PM 0.1 class: their diameter is under 0.1 micrometre.

Produced from the incomplete combustion of hydrocarbons and biomass, these carbon particles can adsorb other pollutants, such as the lead from fuel (when it has not already been eliminated).

These ultrafine particles can then penetrate deeply into the lungs or reach the high atmosphere and spread anywhere on the planet, generating global pollution.
