IOPC Funds

The IOPC Fund, or International Oil Pollution Compensation Fund, is a fund (actually three funds) raised by the entities that receive hydrocarbons transported by sea.

Created in three stages (1978, 1996 and 2005), the IOPC fund is intended to compensate the damage caused by fuel spills from oil tankers when the ship's owner can not pay the full compensation.
