Emphyteusis

Emphyteusis is the acquisition of a real right by implementing of a long-term lease (18 to 99 years under French law) called an "emphyteutic lease".

This type of lease is currently used in the context of managing natural environments. It allows entities such as conservatories to manage ecological environments of interest (moors, peatlands, etc.) without dispossessing their owners (the state, local authorities, private individuals).
