Dendroenergy is energy derived from woody fuels.

Different types of dendroenergy fuels

These fuels may be:

• solid (wood for heating, wood pellets, charcoal...);
• liquid (black liquor, methanol…);
• gaseous (biogas from methanisation, syngas…)

Advantage of dendroenergy

Dendroenergy, alongside muscular energy, is the oldest source of energy used by man. It is a renewable energy derived from biomass and is carbon neutral, as long as the wood used comes from a sustainable forestry operation.
