Club of Rome
The Club of Rome is an international think tank created in 1968 that includes economists, government officials and scientists.
The Club of Rome Report
The Club of Rome became famous in 1972 when it published its first report on the future of the economic growth model. Produced by scientists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the Meadows Report, The Limits of Growth, stated that continued material growth would sooner or later lead to a decline in living conditions and demography.
A decline in living conditions
The reason for this decline is, on the one hand, the limited nature of many resources of raw materials and energy, and on the other hand, the accumulation of environmental deterioration (waste, pollution, etc.).
