Chemical pollution

Chemical pollution is pollution caused by chemical substances that are normally absent from the environment, or present in concentrations that are naturally (much) weaker.

Chemical pollution is therefore a specific category of pollution. In fact, pollution is classified according to the nature of the pollutants (chemical, physical or biological) or the specific environment affected (air, water or soil pollution).
