Biosphere reserve

Created by the " Man and the Biosphere " UNESCO Programme in 1971, biosphere reserves are intended to promote a balanced relationship between man and the biosphere.

These reserves are studied by scientists interested in the conservation of landscapes and ecosystems, natural resource management and the impact of human activities. They endeavour to serve as models for environmental education and sustainable development projects.
