M20

Messier 20 is one of the most photogenic diffuse nebulae. It is situated in the constellation of Sagittarius. It is in the shape of a three petalled flower, gaseous lobes separated by dark filaments. The red nebula is surrounded by another blue one that can be seen on one side.

The nearby Messier 31 open cluster completes this superb picture.
