Volt

The volt is the legal (SI) unit of voltage (or potential difference) and electromotive force (symbol: V)
The difference in potential between two points of a conducting wire through which flows a constant current of 1 ampere when the power dissipated between these points is equal to 1 watt (Equivalent to 1 W/A)
Volt per metre (V/m): the intensity of the electric field exerting a force of 1 newton on a charge of 1 coulomb.
Voltmeter: instrument to measure voltage.
