Thrust

Thrust is the force delivered by a rocket engine resulting from the ejection through the jet nozzle of a certain mass of gas at high speed.

It is equal to the resultant of the pressure forces exerted on the internal and external walls of the engine by the combustion gases and the ambient atmosphere.
