Qubit

A qubit (quantum + bit; pronounced kew-bit) is the quantum state of one unit of quantum information storage. It consists of a superposition of two base states, by convention written " alt="" /> and " alt="" /> . A qubit is composed of a linear quantum superposition of these two states. A qubit memory differs significantly from a traditional memory in which a bit can only take the values 0 or 1, one value at a time. A qubit does not have this restriction.
