Metamaterials

Metamaterials are composed of several layers of a fibreglass matrix stacked one on top of another, between which metal rings are inserted. When exposed to an electromagnetic field or to light, metamaterials react by inducing an internal magnetic field and can modify the path of light rays. Moreover, they can even have "negative" refractive indices!
