The infrared region in the electromagnetic spectrum of radiation is where wavelengths are greater than that of visible light and smaller than in the sub-millimetre region (microwaves).

There is the near infrared from around 0.7 to 0.3 μm, mid infrared from 3 to 25 μm and far infrared from 25 μm to 0.1 mm..
