Connex

The term connex is used for a domain such as a surface or a volume formed by a single external boundary such as a contour or a surface
that can, however, contain several internal boundaries.

The diagram below shows a connex surface with two internal boundaries.

A block of closed cell polyurethane foam is a connex domain, each cell is an internal boundary.
