Capacitor

A capacitor is a device consisting of two conducting surfaces (plates) separated by a thin insulator (the dielectric). It has an electrical capacity measured in farads (F).
The capacity is proportional to the surface area of the plates and the permittivity of the dielectric, and inversely proportional to the thickness of the dielectric.
