Betavoltaic

Betavoltaic batteries are electricity generators developed 50 years ago using the energy from radioactive sources emitting electrons. Tritium, an isotope of hydrogen, is a commonly used source. Here the process is passive unlike that used in nuclear power stations in which collisions between radioisotopes are caused.
