Hominoidea

Hominoidea is a superfamily in the order of Primates.

It includes large apes without tails (human, chimpanzee, gorilla...).

Alongside the smaller monkeys (Cercopithecoidea), from which they separated about 30 million years ago, they belong to the parvorder of Catarrhini.

Gorillas, just like humans, belong to the Hominoidea family. © Raul654 / Licence Creative Commons Gorillas, just like humans, belong to the Hominoidea family. © Raul654 / Licence Creative Commons
