IFREMER

IFREMER is the acronym for the Institut Français de Recherche pour l'Exploitation de la MER (the French Research Institute for Exploitation of the Sea) (http://www.ifremer.fr).

Its missions are:

* To understand, assess and develop ocean resources and allow their sustainable use;

* To improve methods for monitoring, anticipating the development of, protecting and enhancing sea and coastal environments;

* To support the economic development of the maritime world.
