Continental shelf

The continental shelf is located between the coast and the peak of the continental slope at an average depth of 200 m. On an inclined plane it is often broken by continental reliefs (acquired) that are generally altered by marine processes and coated with sediment from the continent (terrigenous) or biological sediment (organogenous).
