Cirrus

A cirrus is a cloud in the upper zone (at temperate latitudes, its base is located at an altitude between 6,000 and 12,500 m and a thickness in the order of 300 m). It is comprised of separated banks, strips or patches, most often white, which take on a fibrous appearance or a silky shine (these two aspects may both be present). No associated precipitation.
