Variability in heart rate
Variability in heart rate (VHR) is the variation in the period between each beat of the heart. The difference in VHR varies from one person to another and is often related to the heart’s health.&nbsp.
High VHR is often seen in sportsmen/women and is a sign of good regulation of heart rate according to need.
Low VHR is more a sign of poor cardiac health and increase in risk of death from heart failure.
VHR is measured using an electrocardiogram. © MoodyGroove / public domain
