Twin

Twins are each of the two children from the same pregnancy.
There are two types of twins:
- monozygotic or true twins in which the same egg has divided. These twins have the same genotype and are the same sex;
- dizygotic or fraternal twins derive from two different eggs (two ova fertilised by two different spermatozoa) and do not have the same genetic material.
