Triglycerides

Triglycerides are one of the two main forms of lipids found in the body, the other being cholesterol. Triglycerides are the form in which fatty acids are stored in the body. They are the fats and oils which we know. Triglycerides are formed from a glycerol molecule binding to three fatty acids.

Abnormal increases, known as hypertriglyceridaemia, increase atherogenic risk (myocardial infarction etc.)
