Tomography

Tomography is a radiological method producing a film of a horizontal, vertical, or oblique section of the organ rather than the whole organ. This provides a more detailed view of the inside of the organ and can for example detect the presence of small metastases. The positron technique (abbreviated to PET) uses these particles as an energy source for this investigation. Other tomographs use X rays.
