TNM Classification

The TNM classification is the classification system for tumours according to three criteria describing the progression of the disease: T = size of the primary tumour N = possible lymph node involvement M = presence of any metastases. The tumour mass is scored from 0 to 4. An early stage carcinoma is therefore described as T1N0M0.
