Thalamus

The thalamus is a pair of bodies mostly containing grey matter and forms part of the lateral wall of the third ventricle of the brain. The thalamus is the main part of the diencephalon and is generally divided into cell clusters known as nuclear groups. They are one of the main relay centres for sensory pathways to the cerebral cortex.
