Rectal lymphogranulomatosus venereum

Lymphogranulomatosus venereum (LGV) is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by strains of Chlamydia trachomatis.

Lymphogranulomatosus venereum is usually transmitted following unprotected anal, vaginal, or oral penetration.

Like syphilis, the emergence of LGV in Europe in recent years has mostly affected male homosexuals infected by HIV.
