Oncomodulin

Oncomodulin is a calcium-binding protein which is specific for tissues in rapid growth such as embryonic or tumour tissue. Oncomodulin is one of the substances secreted by macrophages. Studies have shown that this molecule can trigger regeneration of optic nerves.
