Karnofsky score

The Karnofsky score enables a doctor to asses the change in a patient's state after treatment. Scores are allocated according to the patient's ability to fulfil specific tasks: 100 represents normal, with no complaints, 70 represents an inability to carry out everyday living tasks, 50 a state requiring considerable assistance, 40 incapacity, and 30 hospitalisation. The assessment scale owes its name to the American doctor D. A. Karnofsky.
