The humerus forms the skeleton of the upper arm.

The humerus is a bone arm located between the:

• scapula, in the shoulder;
• radius and ulna, in the elbow.

Structure of the humerus

It is a long bone formed from a triangular central part and two epiphyses at its ends.

Function of the humerus

The humerus articulates with the shoulder and elbow to allow movements of the arm and forearm. The humerus is a long arm bone.
