Fructose

Fructose is a simple sugar naturally present in fruit and honey. It is also produced industrially and commercially available as a sweetening agent.

Fructose and diabetes

In diabetics, using fructose rather than sucrose (granulated white sugar or table sugar) produces a smaller glycaemic response in a diabetic person.
