Cone
The word cone is used in many areas: biology, zoology, botanics, and mathematics.
Biology
The cones are the receptor cells in the retina responsible for colour. There are three types of cones which capture radiation (or stimuli) for red orange, green, and blue&nbsp violet, the three primary colours of the additive RGB system.
Zoology
A cone is a mollusc, a sea snail usually belonging to the Conusgenus.
Botany
In botany, the cone is the reproductive organ of gymnosperms (firs, sequoia, pine, etc.)
Geometry
A cone is a geometrical figure shaped like an ice-cream cornet.
