Colonoscopy

A colonoscopy is an investigation of the large bowel (or colon), usually at the end of the small bowel (or terminal ileum). The investigation is performed using flexible instruments (or endoscopes) with light systems that visualise the walls (or mucosal membranes) and detect possible lesions.
