Cervix

The cervix is the tapered part of the uterus and forms a protrusion in the vagina. It has a small opening passing through it through which the menstrual blood flows. Spermatozoa pass through the opening during sexual intercourse to reach the uterus. The cervix dilates at childbirth to allow the baby to pass through.
