Arterial hypertension

Hypertension is a pathological increase in blood pressure. The term hypertension refers to a systolic blood pressure of over 140 millimetres of mercury or a diastolic pressure of over 90 millimetres of mercury.

Hypertension is the leading cause of medical consultations and must be treated or otherwise cardiovascular complications will develop.
