Stamping

Stamping is a process in which a die is used to form a piece of metal by plastic deformation to give it a shape and size very close to those of the finished product.

Stamping is used to produce an inscription of a stamp or bas-relief by pressing onto a sheet of damp paper, a block of damp plaster or pottery before baking.
