Principle of action and reaction

Isaac Newton's third law published in the first volume of his Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica in 1687 stated: when a body A exerts a force on a second body B, the second body B simultaneously exerts a force equal in magnitude and opposite in direction on body A.
